FAIRISLE CLUB 8
We are so excited to offer the Fairisle Club 8- KILIM THROW.
The yarn kit will be sent out in mid-March.
"As you can see I am progressing with the Kilim Throw (the photo below shows the throw as I'm knitting it now and has not had a steam press for a while!) and I'm really enjoying knitting it! I've just got the second Section H to finish and then there's only Section I to do, which isn't many rows and then the ribbing!
For anyone who doesn't yet know, the Fairisle Club is a fun, limited edition knitalong which aims to improve your Fairisle knitting technique whilst creating a beautiful and unique Fairisle project.
The throw is made up of a total of 9 sections, A through to I. What makes this throw special is that I'm using triangular shapes as well as straight oblongs. It is these techniques that make the design look like a real Kilim carpet! Each section is knitted off the other and you will be learning increasing and decreasing stitches, picking up stitches as well as knitting Fairisle flat. Please note that none of Fairisle Club 8 is knitted in the round, to do so would spoil the finish and look of the design.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, Fairisle Club 8 will again be limited to 550 places worldwide, available to all via our website. Also, for our European customers, I will be offering a maximum of 20 places to each of my largest stockists in the EU countries, so their customers will be able to buy direct from those stores. I will be announcing which stores are involved by the end of this week. These EU places are not extra places but part of the 550 allocation and the reason for doing this is to simplify the process for European customers.
As usual, Fairisle Club 8 will be supported with instructional videos for each section. Lots of you answered my request for your preferences for Facebook or Ravelry for the Fairisle Club 8 group and an overwhelming majority wanted Ravelry! So, for extra support, I'm happy to say that there will be a dedicated Fairisle Club 8 feed in my Ravelry group. This will be moderated by Diane but I will, of course, look in from time to time. I will also still do the Q & A sessions via video but of course these won't be live.
Below are a few more photos of the throw in progress and a diagram of the finished throw with approximate measurements, but I will confirm these in the next newsletter when I will release all the information including the pricing and shipping information".

Each kit will be supplied complete – 50 or 51 x 25g balls of British Breeds, Fairisle Club 8 canvas bag, full printed pattern in a Fairisle Club 8 folder and a welcoming letter. Each customer will be supported with access to the Fairisle Club 8 instructional videos and the support of the Fairisle Club 8 feed on my Ravelry group.
Also remember that you will have access to all the previous Fairisle Club projects, if you join Fairisle Club 8!
Dates to remember!
Knitalong starts start to Friday 14th Open 2023
ATTENTION! This blanket/plaid is not knitted with circular knitting with steeks, but is knitted back and forth - flat knitting.
