Waffle Cardigan - Knitting for Olive
The Waffle cardigan is knitted from top to bottom with 3 strands of our Soft Silk Mohair held together. You start with the seamless double neckline and then knit a short row to raise the back neck edge. The button bands are knitted simultaneously with the front pieces, and the raglan construction adds a design element to the lace pattern. The length of the body and sleeves can be easily adjusted.
The WaffleCardigan is designed with a positive ease, meaning the cardigan’s circumference is intended to be larger than your body circumference. When choosing which size to knit, you can use the "body circumference" as a reference. For example, if you have a bust measurement of 98 cm [38½"], you should choose size M to achieve the positive ease intended for this design.

Yarn: 3 strands held together of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (70% mohair, 30% silk; 225 m [246 yd] per 25 g [0.88 oz]) lace yarn; 10 (11, 12, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19) skeins

Needles: 4 mm / US6 and 5.5 mm / US9 80 cm [32"] circular needles and double-pointed needles, in the correct size to achieve gauge, plus a spare 4 mm / US6 80 cm [32"] circular needle
Gauge: 15.5 sts and 23 rows = 10 cm [4"] in waffle stitch repeat after blocking (see yoke charts A, B or C) with 5.5 mm / US9 needles and 3 strands held together
Notions: Stitch holder or scrap yarn, stitch markers, tapestry needle, length of scrap yarn for provisional cast-on, 7 buttons 20 mm [⅝"] diameter.
