We have chosen to knit with the soft, pill-free, and durable Heavy Merino from Knitting for Olive together with Silk Mohair from Isager.
The Terrazzo Neck is knitted from the back piece up towards the shoulders and down over the front piece. An opening for the head is knitted, where stitches are picked up for the turtleneck collar. The Terrazzo Neck is shaped like a square on the back and like a trapezoid on the front.
The pattern uses the techniques of Italian cast-on and Italian bind-off.
First, knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. Wash the swatch before measuring the gauge.
Sizes: XS/S (M/L)
Measurements: Length: 42 (45) cm (without turtleneck), shoulder width: approx. 40 (42) cm
Gauge: 17 stitches x 24 rows in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm after washing and blocking
20-22 stitches x 24 rows in ribbing (1 twisted knit, 1 twisted purl) on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm after washing and blocking (gauge for the turtleneck)
Suggested needles: Circular needles 4.5 mm (40 cm and 60 cm or 80 cm)
Materials: 250 (250) g Peruvian Highland Wool from Filcolana (50 g = 100 m) knitted together with 50-75 (75) g Silk Mohair from Isager Yarn (25 g = 212 m) or Tynn Silk Mohair from Sandnes Garn (25 g = 212 m) or Tilia from Filcolana (25 g = 212 m) or Brushed Lace from Mohair by Canard (25 g = 212 m)
