Storm Sweater Baby is knitted from top to bottom with textured knitting. First, the back is knitted back and forth. Then stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are then joined at the front to continue knitting the front piece. The front and back pieces are then joined under the armhole and continue into the body, which is knitted straight down. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop technique. Finally, a ribbed edge is knitted at the neckline, which is folded double and knitted down. Storm Sweater Baby is knitted with textured knitting consisting of four different pattern segments.
Make a gauge swatch before you start knitting to measure the gauge – note that the gauge must match both in height and width for the measurements given on the front to be correct. You can make the gauge swatch following the charts in the knitting pattern.
