Key Cardigan Junior - Petitknit

We have chosen to knit in the soft, pill-free, and durable Heavy Merino from Knitting for Olive.

The Key Cardigan Junior is knitted from top to bottom with raglan increases. The neckline is shaped using short rows. The yoke and body are knitted back and forth on circular needles, and the sleeves are knitted in the round. Finally, button bands are knitted along the front edges and neckline. The entire cardigan features a two-color stripe pattern.

Size guide

The Key Cardigan Junior should have a positive ease of about 25 cm relative to the chest measurement. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 years correspond to a chest measurement of approximately 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 cm. The finished cardigan measurements are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the gauge is maintained). For example, if the child measures 59 cm around the chest, you should knit a size 5-6 years. A cardigan in size 5-6 years has a chest width of 84 cm and will in this example provide a positive ease of 25 cm. If the measured chest size deviates from the age guide, you should pay attention to adjusting the length to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
