We chose to knit it in the soft, pill-resistant, and durable Merino from Knitting for Olive.

Otto Sweater Baby is knitted from the top down in a striped pattern. The back is knitted first, followed by the shoulder sections, which are knitted separately back and forth on a circular needle. These are then joined at the front to continue with the front piece. The front and back are then joined to continue with the body, which is knitted in the round on the circular needle. The sleeves are knitted from stitches picked up around the armhole. Finally, the double-folded neckband is knitted from picked-up stitches.
