Olives Julhatt is knitted in stockinette stitch in the round from top down. Depending on the look you prefer, it is knitted with either 1 strand Merino + 1 strand Soft Silk Mohair held together or with 2 strands Merino held together.
The hat is finished with a ribbed edge and an Italian bind-off method to ensure the edge is completely neat and elastic. The pompom is made last and sewn onto the hat as the final step.
Note that when only one size is given in the instructions, this number applies to all sizes.
Sizes: 1-2 (3-5, 6-8, 9-12) years // S-M (L-XL) to fit head circumference: approx. 42-44 (45-47, 48-50, 51-53) // 54-56 (57-60) cm
Yarn: Either 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Merino (250 m / 50 g, fingering weight yarn, 1 (1, 1, 2) // 2 (2) skeins + 1 strand of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (225 m / 25 g), lace weight yarn, 1 (1, 2, 2) // 2 (3) skeins or 2 strands Knitting for Olive Merino, 2 (2, 2, 3) // 3 (4) skeins.

Knitting needles: 4.5 mm / US7 double-pointed needles and 3.5 mm / US4 and 4.5 mm / US7 circular needles [16"] cable length, or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge (after blocking): 21 sts and 26 rows = 10 cm [4"] in stockinette stitch with 4.5 mm / US7 needles
