Melange Sweater - PetiteKnit

Melange Sweater is knitted from the top down. First, the upper part of the back is knitted back and forth, and the shoulder slope is shaped using short rows. Increases are knitted at the bottom of the back. Then the shoulder sections are knitted separately back and forth on a circular needle. These are then joined at the front to shape the front piece. The front piece and back are joined when the body is knitted in the round on a circular needle. The sleeves are knitted from picked-up stitches along the armhole and knitted in the round on a circular needle and double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop technique. The ribbing of the neckline is knitted from picked-up stitches around the neck opening, folded double, and knitted down. Melange Sweater is knitted with two strands of thin wool yarn in contrasting colors to achieve a melange effect. Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge.

Size Guide

Melange Sweater should have a positive ease of about 15-20 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, taken on the body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a chest width of 110 cm and will, in this example, provide a positive ease of 20 cm.

Suggested needles: Circular needles 4 mm (40, 80 and/or 100 cm), circular needles 3.5 mm (40 cm), double-pointed needles 3.5 and 4 mm (if not knitting with Magic Loop technique)
