The Moby Sweater Mini is knitted from top to bottom with textured and cable knitting. First, the back is knitted with short rows to shape the shoulder slope. Then stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are then joined at the front to knit the front piece. The front and back pieces are then joined under the armhole to continue knitting the body straight down. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop technique. Finally, a ribbed edge is knitted at the neckline, folded double, and knitted down.
Make a gauge swatch to determine which needle size you need to match the gauge – note that this can vary from yarn to yarn. Be sure to wash the swatch before measuring, as textured knitting can “grow” after washing.
