This knitting pattern is in Swedish.

Excellent for knitting in Heavy Merino yarn.

The Marseille Sweater is knitted from the top down. First, the upper part of the back is knitted back and forth, and the shoulder slope is shaped with shortened rounds to get a good fit. Then the shoulder parts are also knitted with shortened rounds, separately back and forth on circular needle. The shoulder sections are brought together at the front to form the front piece. The front piece and the back piece are then brought together to form the torso, which is knitted in the round on a circular needle. The sleeves are worked from picked-up stitches along the arm opening, and they are given a bias using shortened rounds. The sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles and double pointed needles or with Magic Loop technology. The elastic edge of the neck is finally worked out from picked up stitches, and it is folded double and finally worked down. The Marseille Sweater is knitted with stripes, and the placement of these is indicated in the pattern.

Knit a test patch to find the stitch size that gives you the right stitch strength.

Size guide

The Marseille Sweater should have a range of motion (positive ease) of approx. 25 cm in relation to your bust measurement. The fit is oversized. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured on your own body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110- 120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting, to determine which size will fit you best. If you e.g. measures 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A sweater in size S has an overall width of 115 cm and in the mentioned example will give a range of motion (positive ease) of 25 cm.

The model in the picture wears a size XS, has a bust measurement of 82 cm and is 164 cm tall.
