Poems in Masks – Solveig Hisdal, mod. 146

Patterns in Swedish.

For the book Poetry in Masks, designer Solveig Hisdal drew inspiration from traditional patterns and techniques from, among others, textiles, rosemaling chests and cabinets, wallpapers, national costumes, and bridal cloths. She visited museums to gather knowledge and inspiration, using this to create a book full of knitted treasures. The book was published in 1997 and is unfortunately not available for sale today.

Model 146 is knitted in Ask Wool Yarn (formerly Hifa 2). The yarn pack contains the pattern and enough yarn for the largest size.
Inspired by the tavlbragd from Eiken found at the Vest-Agder County Museum. The sweater is knitted in a simple weaving pattern decorated with a yellow band at the neckline.

26 sts / 30 rounds pattern = 10 x 10 cm
Circular needles 2.5 and 3 mm
