Aran
British Breeds Aran is a fantastic addition to Marie Wallin's exclusive British Breeds family!
The wool is from four different British sheep breeds such as Blufaced Leicester, Exmoor Horn, Wensleydale, and Zwartbles.
Together, it gives the yarn strength, luster and softness with character. The yarn is spun in Devon by John Arbon.
It is available in 12 colors and is sold in skeins of 50g/85 m.
British Breeds Aran is twice as thick as the previous yarn.
You will find fantastic patterns in Marie Wallin's latest book - "Aran-book"!
Available in 50g skeins, 85m/93 yds
Mask density: 19m/26 v at 10 cm
Stitch density: 22/22 rows on 10 cm in Fairisle knitting
Sticks: 4.5 mm
The yarn is perfect for solid colors as well as FairIsle knitted garments. The colors are mottled which becomes so beautiful with Marie Wallin's design.
Take care of your yarn or garment
To care for your British Breeds Aran yarn, store unused yarn in a storage box or plastic bag to reduce the risk of moth infestation! To care for your British Breeds Aran garment, please hand wash thoroughly with a mild, natural liquid soap detergent in lukewarm water. We have organic Eucalan which is fantastic. After washing, ensure that as much water as possible is extracted from the garment before drying. This can be done by squeezing the garment between two towels. Reshape the garment while damp and allow to air dry naturally. Worth noting is that garments in 100% wool require minimal washing, wool fibers are naturally self-cleaning! To refresh your knitwear, just hang on a line outside to 'air', any stains can be cleaned. In the summer, you can store your knitted garments in plastic bags that deter moths, such as cedar balls or lavender bags.
