Aran
British Breeds Aran is a fantastic fine addition to Marie Wallin's exclusive British Breeds family!
The wool comes from four different British sheep breeds: Bluefaced Leicester, Exmoor Horn, Wensleydale, and Zwartbles.
Together, they give the yarn strength, luster, and softness with character. The yarn is spun in Devon by John Arbon.
It is available in 12 colors and sold in 50g/85 m skeins.
British Breeds Aran is twice as thick as the previous yarn.
You will find fantastic patterns in Marie Wallin's latest book - "Aran book"!
Available in 50g skeins, 85m/93 yds
Gauge: 19 sts/26 rows per 10 cm
Gauge: 22 sts/22 rows per 10 cm in Fair Isle knitting
Knitting needles: 4.5 mm
The yarn is perfect for both solid-colored and Fair Isle knitted garments. The colors are heathered, which looks so beautiful with Marie Wallin's designs.
Care for your yarn or garment
To take care of your British Breeds Aran yarn, store unused yarn in a storage box or plastic bag to reduce the risk of moth damage! To care for your British Breeds Aran garment, please hand wash carefully with a mild, natural liquid soap detergent in lukewarm water. We have organic Eucalan, which is fantastic. After washing, make sure to extract as much water as possible from the garment before drying. This can be done by pressing the garment between two towels. Reshape the garment while damp and let it air dry naturally. It is worth noting that garments made of 100% wool require minimal washing, as wool fibers are naturally self-cleaning! To freshen up your knitted garments, simply hang them outside on a line to "air out"; any stains can be cleaned. In summer, you can store your knitted garments in plastic bags that deter moths, such as cedarwood balls or lavender sachets.
