It is perfectly fine to knit with our beautiful, soft, and pill-free Heavy Merino from Knitting for Olive instead.
As a base, we used Heavy Merino in the color Brown Bear and then one skein each of Wheat, Bark, Deep Petroleum Blue, and knit with double strands of Merino Unicorn (purple)
The Celeste Sweater is knit from the top down with a circular yoke. First, the neckline is knit, and then the yoke is knit in the round with colorwork using 5 different colors according to the chart. Short rows are knit after the yoke’s colorwork to raise the back and thereby create a good fit. The body and sleeves are knit in the round in stockinette stitch and both are finished with a ribbed edge.
Be aware that colorwork is often knit on needles 0.5-1 mm larger than those used for solid stockinette stitch. Therefore, make a gauge swatch in both colorwork and solid stockinette before you start knitting.
Size Guide
The Celeste Sweater should have a positive ease of about 15 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to bust measurements of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The finished garment measurements are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 85 cm around your bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit size XS. A sweater in size XS has a finished bust circumference of 100 cm and will, in this example, provide a positive ease of 15 cm.
