It is perfectly fine to substitute the yarn with one strand of merino and one strand of Soft Silk Mohair from Knitting for Olive.
The Lyon Sweater is knitted from top to bottom. First, the upper part of the back is knitted with increases. Then the shoulder sections are knitted from picked-up stitches along the top of the back piece. Stitches are then picked up along the shoulder sections and the rest of the yoke is knitted together on a circular needle, first back and forth and then in the round. The body is knitted in the round on a circular needle and the sleeves are knitted in the round on double-pointed needles or using the Magic Loop technique. Finally, a double-folded ribbed edge with built-in double knitting is knitted at the neckline. The Lyon Sweater is knitted with stripes, and their placement is specified in the pattern.
Size Guide
The Lyon Sweater should have a positive ease of about 20 cm in the smallest sizes but gradually less in the larger sizes. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, taken on the body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front page of the pattern. Note: These measurements only apply if the gauge is maintained. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a finished width of 108 cm and will in this example give a positive ease of 18 cm.
