We recommend hand washing your wool garments. Soak the garment with a mild wool detergent. Gently press the water out of the garment by rolling it in a towel and then dry the garment flat on a dry towel. Feel free to shape the garment when laying it out to dry to get the correct measurements on the finished garment. Yarn from Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk can be washed on gentle wool programs (wool cradle) in most modern washing machines. All machines wash differently, and we cannot guarantee that the garment will not felt in your machine. We recommend knitting a swatch and washing it in the machine before washing a whole garment. Wool tolerates spinning, but tumbling can cause felting. Always wash one garment at a time if washing in a machine, and dry the garment flat on a towel. Yarn that is not superwash treated should not be washed on any program other than wool programs.

About Varde pelsull yarn
Varde Pelsull yarn is made from wool from Norwegian Pelssau sheep. The pelsull is long-fibered and glossy, with a naturally hairy appearance. It has natural gray and black fibers, and it is the natural gray base that we dye all our pelsull colors on. This gives the yarn a beautiful melange and a lovely color play. Blåne can be used in combination with and as an alternative to Luna and Vidde wool yarn.
