We have chosen to knit in the soft, pill-free, and durable Heavy Merino from Knitting for Olive.

The Key Sweater Junior is knitted from the top down with raglan increases. Short rows are knitted after the neckline ribbing to shape the neckline. The body and sleeves are knitted in the round and both end with a ribbing. The sweater features a two-color stripe pattern.

Size guide

The Key Sweater Junior should have a positive ease of about 25 cm relative to the chest measurement. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 years correspond to a chest measurement of approximately 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 cm. The finished sweater measurements are given on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the gauge is maintained). For example, if the child measures 62 cm around the chest, you should knit a size 6-7 years. A sweater in size 6-7 years has a chest circumference of 88 cm and will in this example give a positive ease of 26 cm. If the measured chest size deviates from the age guide, you should pay attention to adjusting the length to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/longer than average.
