The Novice Slipover is knitted from top to bottom in stockinette stitch. First, the back piece is knitted, and then stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge of the back piece to shape the shoulders, which are later joined at the front to knit the front piece.
The back and front pieces are then joined under the armhole to shape the body, which is knitted in the round on circular needles. Along the neckline and armholes, ribbed edges are finally knitted. Instructional videos are available for all steps in the pattern.
Size Guide
The Novice Slipover should have a positive ease of about 15 cm in relation to your bust measurement. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The finished slipover measurements are indicated on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around your bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S which has a finished width of 105 cm. This will provide a positive ease of 15 cm in the given example.
