ABOUT SIZES
Note the relatively large jump between sizes. This is because the shape follows the pattern repeat, which runs over 12 stitches. This results in a larger jump in grading than, for example, you would make in a stockinette stitch model.
It can be a good idea to compare the measurements with a sweater you think fits well before choosing your size. The given measurements are the finished sweater's measurements, not your own.
CONSTRUCTION
The model is knitted in the round from the bottom up. At the armhole, the work is divided into back and front pieces, and each part is finished knitting back and forth. It ends with ribbing and short rows on the shoulder pieces. The shoulder stitches are knitted together, and stitches are picked up along the armhole for the sleeves. The sleeves are knitted in the round and finished with decreases in the pattern.
The model has ribbed edges on the body and sleeves, and uses Italian cast-on and bind-off.

No. 5 and no. 4.5 for casting on.
