Anna Ancher on the needles - Ditte Larsen
An incredibly fine and inspiring book Anna Ancher på pindene av Ditte Larsen som stickas i Isagers garner. Språk danska
Anna Ancher on the needles is a knitting book inspired by Anna Ancher's paintings and her virtuoso depiction of light's play with colors.
It can be the colors in a sunlit kitchen curtain. Or the flicker of sunlight on a blue living room wall. These are images and colors so beautiful and atmospheric that once you have seen Anna Ancher's paintings, you never forget them.
Knitting designer Ditte Larsen has delved deeply into Anna Ancher's paintings and color schemes – and into her yarn basket. Instead of brush and palette, Ditte Larsen uses knitting needles and yarn to capture light, shadow, and texture.
Colors and yarn qualities are carefully selected, and yarns are knitted together in different combinations, knitting patterns, and designs. All to maintain the magic and atmosphere that make Anna Ancher's paintings and colors so unique.
The result is an unusually beautiful and atmospheric knitting book, where Anna Ancher's experiments with light and shadow, moods and design language are captured in Ditte Larsen's models, which are often knitted with multiple strands to achieve the same texture and depth in the colors as on the canvases.
A total of 12 paintings have been the source of inspiration for poncho blouses, scarves, shawls, blouses, cushions, and hats. All models for women.
The models are simple and the patterns thoroughly worked through. All the book's models are developed in yarn from Isager's exclusive range.
