“I received two beautiful Japanese woodcuts from my uncle Niels as a confirmation gift. Since then, I have been interested in Japanese art, and with the arrival of Japanese fashion designers in the Western world, I gained extra focus on what was happening in this fascinating country. In 2001, I met my husband Nels, who was then working and living in Tokyo. This led to 15 years of commuting between Japan and Denmark and many wonderful experiences.

My knitting is always inspired by what happens around me, both in everyday life and while traveling. Therefore, living in Japan for extended periods became an enormous source of inspiration. This book tells the story of my life in Japan and some of the inspiration I gained on the journey.”
