Simple and Simple Sweater is designed with beginner knitters in mind. The pattern is explained in detail and only requires very basic knitting techniques: knit and purl stitches, increases, and decreases. But despite being so simple, it becomes a special garment! Simple and Simple Sweater is knitted with two strands of mohair held together with one strand of fingering weight yarn, creating a soft and fuzzy halo that gives the basic construction a sophisticated look, which can be nuanced by choosing yarns in different shades.
Simple and Simple Sweater is knitted seamlessly in the round from the top down. You start from the neckline and knit the yoke with raglan increases. Then the sleeve stitches are placed on hold and the body is finished. Finally, one sleeve at a time is knitted in the round, from the held stitches down to the cuff. Simple and Simple Sweater has a classic, relaxed silhouette with a high and fitted ribbed neckline and deep ribbed edges. The sweater is designed to sit on the body at hip height, but the length can easily be changed to sit lower or higher on the body by knitting more or fewer rows before the ribbed edges begin.
