Poems in Masks – Solveig Hisdal, mod. 108

For the book Poems in Stitches, designer Solveig Hisdal drew inspiration from traditional patterns and techniques from, among others, textiles, rosemaling chests and cupboards, wallpapers, folk costumes, and chest cloths. She visited museums to gather knowledge and inspiration, using this to create a book full of knitted treasures. The book was published in 1997 and is unfortunately not available for sale today.

Model 108 is knitted in Alv Kamgarn. The yarn pack contains the pattern and enough yarn for the largest size.
Inspired by beautiful weavings and christening equipment found at the Hardanger and Hallingdal Folk Museum. The outfit consists of a sweater, overalls, and hat. The sweater is embroidered with machine stitches, and the hat is decorated with clear, white, yellow, and green beads, a floral cotton fabric, and three tassels.

26 sts = 10 cm
The set is knitted with double thread
Circular needle 2.5 and 3 mm
Double-pointed needles 2.5 and 3 mm

The baby set is knitted with double thread Alv Kamgarn.
8099 half-bleached white
For embroidery: 8078 farmer red, 8006 terracotta red, 8027 bleached white, 8015 light blue, 8075 light apricot yellow, 8035 red-golden beige, 8090 hunting green, 8068 pale apple green, 8017 farmer blue, 8101 cognac red, 8103 light olive, 8102 light gray-blue.

For best results, we recommend using the needle size you need to achieve the specified gauge. Switch to larger or smaller needles as needed.
