Gilliatt from the French brand De Rerum Natura is a fantastic merino yarn, both soft and rustic at the same time!

Gilliatt is a light, soft, and fluffy three-ply yarn that is perfect for thick, cozy sweaters. It is a forgiving yarn that gives an even result, does not split, and stays firmly on the knitting needles, making it a perfect choice even for beginners!

100% Merino wool, Merino d'Arles and Portuguese merino

Skeins
250m / 100g

Knitting needles: 4-5 mm

Gilliatt is offered in several natural colors that result from the blend of white and naturally brown/black merino.

Sel salt
Poivre Blanc white pepper
Poivre et Sel pepper and salt
Poivre pepper

In addition to these natural colors, De Rerum Natura has created an incredibly beautiful color palette with both subtle and strong colors.

Gilliatt, just like its little sister Ulysse, gets its special character from the blend of white organic Merino d'Arles from Provence, France, and black Portuguese merino from the Alentejo valley, Portugal. All merino comes from farms where animal welfare and wool quality are the focus.
All manufacturing steps for this yarn occur in a short chain: France and Portugal for sourcing, Belgium or Italy for washing, France for spinning and dyeing.
This is done with a constant desire for traceability and to reduce its environmental impact.

De Rerum Natura works only with ethical and organic producers, and we are incredibly happy, proud, and grateful to collaborate with them!

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
We recommend gentle hand washing in lukewarm water with wool detergent. Then lay flat to dry, avoiding rubbing or stretching the garment.

If you want to try machine washing, we recommend first testing a swatch on the wool program.

Note that very strong colors, such as Émeraude, may bleed slightly during blocking and washing. If you plan to knit together with light yarns, we recommend testing washing your swatch first. If the dark/strong color bleeds (releases color into the water), we advise rinsing the knitted piece several times until the water is completely clear before laying it to dry.
