The Dagmar Zipper Sweater Man is knitted from top to bottom with textured knitting. First, the upper part of the back is knitted. Then the shoulder sections are knitted from stitches picked up along the top of the back piece. The body is knitted in the round on circular needles. The sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles from stitches picked up at the armhole. Finally, a ribbed edge is knitted at the neckline along with double-knit edges at the front, where the zipper is attached.
Make a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. You can make swatches following the charts in the knitting patterns.
Size Guide
The Dagmar Zipper Sweater Man should have a positive ease of about 20 cm. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a chest measurement, taken on the body, of 86-91 (91-96) 96-101 (101-107) 107-113 (113-119) 119-124 (124-132) 132-144 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit best. For example, if you measure 105 cm around the chest (or the widest part of the body), you should knit a size L. A sweater in size L has a chest width of 125 cm and will, in this example, provide a positive ease of 20 cm. The measurement chart is available here.
