We are so happy to finally be able to offer this beautiful kit with yarn and pattern for Marianne Isager's fantastic BORO Cardigan!

Inspired by the Sashiko sewing technique, Marianne Isager has created her beautiful BORO with panels in different textures to imitate Sashiko, an ancient Asian technique for making the most of every part of a garment by patching and repairing it, thereby giving it a longer life.

Ever since we first saw this beautiful creation, we have planned to make a yarn kit, but only now can we offer the pattern separately in a kit. The pattern was first published in the book A Knitting Life - Tokyo Tversted .

PLEASE NOTE! The pattern is in ENGLISH!

The kit contains YARN and PATTERN; needles are not included.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
Begin by working the Back, then work the two Front pieces. The three pieces are then blocked to the correct measurements. When the pieces are completely dry, then the shoulders are joined together. The Sleeve stitches are then picked up and worked down to the desired length toward the wrist. The Sleeves are then blocked. Mattress stitch is used to join the Sleeves and the side panels together. Finally, a wide band is worked back and forth along the Front pieces and around the neck. It might be helpful to use stitch markers while knitting to denote the different patterns of each Boro patch.
