The Dagmar Jacket is knitted from top to bottom with textured knitting. First, the upper part of the back is knitted with increases. Then the shoulder sections are knitted from stitches picked up along the top of the back piece. The body is knitted back and forth. The sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles from stitches picked up at the armhole. Finally, button bands and a ribbed edge at the neckline are knitted.
Make a gauge swatch to find the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. You can make swatches following the charts in the knitting patterns.
Size Guide
The Dagmar Jacket should have a positive ease of about 26 cm in the smallest sizes, gradually less in the larger sizes. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The finished garment measurements are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A size S jacket has a chest circumference of 116 cm and will, in this example, provide a positive ease of 26 cm. The measurement chart is available here.
