Chunky Cable Sweater is our modern interpretation of a classic cable sweater
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up in a dense cable pattern.
First, the ribbing on the body is knitted back and forth to create a slit at the bottom on both sides of the sweater.
Then the body is knitted in the round in the cable patterns before the work is divided to create armholes and front and back
which are knitted back and forth.
The shoulders are sewn together with mattress stitch and then you pick up stitches for the sleeves.
Finally, you pick up stitches for a neckline that is knitted in the same type of ribbing as on the body and sleeves.
Be aware that cable knitting expands after blocking, so the sweater may appear too narrow before
blocking.
