You can advantageously knit with 1 strand of merino together with 1 strand of Soft Silk Mohair from our Knitting for Olive.

Agnete Cardigan is knitted from top to bottom in patent knitting. First, a piece is knitted in double knitting that should sit at the neck and hang together with the front edges. Then stitches are picked up in this piece to be able to knit further on the back piece. Then knit the right front piece and the left front piece. These three parts are brought together in the next step to knit further on the torso, which is knitted back and forth in patent with front edges in double knitting. Along the double-knitted front edges, buttonholes are knitted at the same time. Next, stitches are picked up in the armhole and the sleeves are knitted from these stitches.

Do a swatch before you start knitting to find the stitch size that gives you the right stitch strength. Be aware that the stitch strength on the height (i.e. number of rows per 10 cm) can vary depending on the yarn you are knitting in. The most important thing is that the stitch strength on the width (i.e. number of sts per 10 cm) is correct.

There is a video with the patent knitting and double knitting techniques at www.petiteknit.com.

Size guide

The Agnete Cardigan should have a range of motion (positive ease) of 10-15 cm in relation to your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured on the body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) ) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are given on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. If you e.g. measures 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your body), you should knit a size S. A cardigan in size S has an overall width of 105 cm and in the mentioned example will give a range of movement (positive ease) of 15 cm.
